- Type: Backpacker.
- Cover: Medical and personal belongings (coverage for tech gear like phones, laptops and cameras need additional premimum).
- Max duration: 13 months.
- Pros: They actually still have stores or else you can call them.
- Cons: Adventure stuff need aditional premium and their main travel insurance is not for old farts over 35.
- Comments: STA is an international company with branches in many countries and each place offers a different travel insurance for their residents.
World Escapade
- Company: Located in Canada and establised in 1987.
- Underwriter: ihi Bupa.
- Type: Single trip.
- Cover: Extensive medical-only with option to add non-medical cover.
- Max duration: 12 months, but can be renewed.
- Pros: All adventures are covered, can be taken out while travelling, no deductibles, free choice of hospitals and unlimited medical cover.
- Cons: Some war torn countries are not covered!
World Nomads
- Company: Located in Australia and establised in 2000.
- Underwriter: National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh.
- Type: Single, couple and family.
- Cover: Medical and personal belongings.
- Max duration: Unlimited.
- Pros: Online claiming, can be taken out while travelling and most adventure stuff are included.
- Cons: Countries under U.S. economic embargoes and trade sanctions are not covered.
